You can help preserve our heritage.

11Heritage Plaza is part of a larger, more exciting vision for downtown Fort Worth and the Trinity River. Reopening the plaza to the public and evaluating its immediate environs will be the first phase of this long-term strategy – but we are a long way from realizing that goal.

In a 2009 resolution, the Fort Worth City Council announced their intent to collaborate with public and private partners to reopen Heritage Plaza. Phase One of the project, design and engineering led by the OLIN studio, will require a $1.2 million investment. The Amon G. Carter Foundation has already provided a generous lead gift and we believe that the city will fund the needed improvements if we can complete Phase One of the construction project. In 2009, Heritage Plaza was placed on the list of the state’s “Most Endangered Historic Places” by Preservation Texas.

Will you help us preserve this important piece of Fort Worth’s heritage and make it a vibrant destination for a new generation?
